Friday Favorites

It's Friday!! And that means another round of Friday Favorites - are you sick them yet? haha

Enjoy!

1. Twizzlers

This is my weakness snack. Seriously, I can not buy them or I will eat the entire bag in a week (or day!). But they are so good. I love them almost as much as the black kind! :)

2. Big Sexy Hair Root Pump

I have straight hair that tends to be rather flat with no body. It was just something I thought I had to deal with until my sister showed me this stuff! WOW! does it give volume. I love it and it does wonders to my hair!

3. Honey Do Notebook by redstarINK

Isn't this the cutest notepad to make lists on? For me, I love making lists, it drives my husband crazy! But this would be perfect to make his lists on ;)

4. Spring

I love that the trees are back in bloom and flowers are starting to bud. It just the perfect time of year. I try to enjoy every moment of it, even eating my lunch outside at work because here in Texas we only have a couple weeks (feels like days) of this nice weather before the 100's hit! It is already supposed to be 90+ on Saturday, ick!

5. Dale Chihuly (website)

The ceiling at the Bellagio

Chandelier at the Kalamazoo Institute of Art

Ceiling of Lena's Cafe at Fredrick Meyer Gardens

Dale Chihuly, as you can see from the photos, is a glass artist and an absolute favorite of mine! I have seen the chandelier in Kalamazoo and the ceiling in Grand Rapids and both are stunning pieces. I also got to see a whole exhibit when he was in Kalamazoo a couple years back. If you have the chance to see his work, GO! I promise it will be worth it.

Come back next week for Alissa from Rags to Stitches version of the Friday Favorites! April is bringing 5 weeks of guest bloggers for Friday Favorites!

what inspires you today?

Baby Cocoons

These adorable cocoons have become all the rage with newborns and I can see why. When you see a newborn baby all wrapped up in one it just makes your heart melt! I have had the privileged of making a couple recently and just wanted to show them off!

for a couple that doesn't know what gender their baby is:
off white with a pink flower attachment (for baby girl) and a baseball attachment (for baby boy)

Friday Favorites

It is that time again - Friday Favorites! Another round of my randomness to end the week :)

1. OPI Black Shatter by Katy Perry

(sorry for the awful picture of my feet - please ignore the horrible paint job)
This stuff is awesome! It goes on top of a "normal" color and then cracks when it dries. I am pretty sure we had this back in the day when I was a kid/teen but this stuff works SO much better. BUT good luck trying to find it - store sell out in less than 10 mins after they get a shipment. I had to wait for almost a 1/2 hr to get it but so worth it!

2. Peonies

With Spring coming, I am so in the mood for flowers and that floral scent. I love that peonies are huge flowers and give off a nice light scent. My parents have peony bushes along the side of their house and it is one of my favorite things to see all in bloom. As you can see from the pictures above I also used them in my bouquets for my wedding. SO gorgeous :)

3. Homespun Yarn by Lion Brand

I don't use this yarn a lot but when I do I really love it. It is soft and kind of has a "fuzzy" feel to it. I was reminded of it last night when I was making a baby cocoon. And I can't wait to see the softness of the yarn on a newborn baby!

4. Criminal Minds

I love this show and watched it from the beginning! I am not sure why I am so addicted to it but really do enjoy the characters and "cases." This past week's episode brought me to tears! (don't judge :) )

5. South Haven, Michigan

While South Haven probably doesn't look like this right now, since spring is coming, it still one of my favorite places to visit summer or winter!

Happy Friday!

Share some favorites!

Hair Wear

I love headbands and hair clips and the "cuteness" they add to not-so-great hair day (sometimes every day for me!) or they are just perfect for a night out!

Here are some pictures of my new headbands and hair clips. Sorry they are self taken (the hubby was out of town) and I will have some better ones soon!

Headbands
They are on a black stretchy band that goes around your head. Fits child to adult size. They are super stretchy and VERY comfortable. I can't wear headbands too long without getting a headache but these I can wear all day no problem! They look cute with your hair down or with it pulled in a pony (I can't do that anymore since I chopped mine off haha!)

Hair Clips
These are flowers attached to snap clips. They are perfect for holding back longer bangs, or a simple small addition to your hair. They fit any age (that has hair of course) and can come in any color combination! So cute for just the added color "pop" to an outfit!

What do you think of them?

Friday Favorites

It's time for round #2 of Friday Favorites!

What did you think of last week's?

Without further ado...

1. The song "Johnny & June" by Heidi Newfield

This is just the chorus, but it is such a fun song about love, and spending a lifetime with the one you love. It is most definitely my pick-me-up song and my ringtone, haha :)

Here you have to listen to the whole song - take my word on this one.

See wasn't that worth it?

2. Rosebud Earrings from Pink Lemonade

I have SO many of these earrings in all different colors (shh... don't tell the hubby!). But they are adorable to wear and SO lightweight on you ears. I get so many compliments on them - and they are SO affordable too. Get a pair... or two :)

Buy them here

3. Crispy and Creamy Baked Chicken from Kraft Foods

This recipe is so easy and so flexible - I have substituted the cream of celery for cream of chicken, cream of potato and cream of mushroom and they were all great. Plus, I just use whatever cheese I have on hand and it is never bad. And extra bonus - the hubby LOVES this recipe, he would eat it every week if we could.

4. Modern Family (Weds. on ABC)

Have you seen this show? No?? Well you are missing out! It is a 1/2 hr show on Wednesday night and it is hilarious! Just cracks me up looking at this picture.

5. Cotton Candy Fabric

This fabric just screams spring with the pinks, greens, and teal. I just love how cute and bright it it is. And... yes, you guessed it - a new color come soon to the wristlets!

There you go another 5 things that are my favorites for this week.

Have you shared a favorite item with me? Why not?

Five Favorites Friday!

I have SO many "favorite" items that range from homemade to store boughten, to items I own and items I want, so I have decided on Fridays I am going show off some of these items. It is going to be a hodge podge of randomness but it should be fun!

It is a great way to go into the weekend don't you think?

And if you have favorite items I would love for you to comment and share them! Maybe we will find something we have in common :)

1. Lucky You for her Perfume

I love the scent of this perfume, it is light and floral but yet not too sweet and girly. I get so many compliments on it when I wear it. It is pretty much my everyday perfume but I do switch it up sometimes - maybe I will share some of those other perfumes in my upcoming favorites list :)

2. St. Patrick's Day Subway Art from Eighteen25

This is a FREE printable from Eighteen 25 and it is so cute and adorable. It is going in a black frame on my mantel for the next couple weeks!

3. Fabric Softener

I love how fabric softener smells, feels, and almost makes doing laundry not so horrible. But the cost can add up for something that is just an "extra." So I have made my own! Next week I will post the details so you can too - it is cost effective, works great, and the best part - you get to pick the scent! Take that Gain :)

4. Baker's Twine in Caribbean from The Twinery

I just love this twine, it is so perfect. I want some - and in every color! Wouldn't you like to get a Something Diane Made product wrapped up with twine and topped with a twine bow?

I think so :)

5. Wet Seal Jeans

These jeans fit me like a glove, and I have never had that until about 2 years again when I bought a pair of these! And now they are worn through. For people, like me that need "short" jeans this is the perfect place to shop. Almost every style they have come in the short option which is a nice change to the stores that carry one or two styles!

Don't tell the hubs but I picked up another pair of these last weekend :)

So there you have it week #1 of my favorites.

What do you think? What are your favorite things this week?

Don't forget about the two adoption auctions going on! Rags to Stitches ends tomorrow - please help out this wonderful family. And Bring my Nephew Home starts on Sunday - get those bidding hands ready!

Two Great People

Adoption is a wonderful cause, and hits close to home with some of my relatives being adopted and having gone through the adoption process. It is however a long and very expensive process, that is why two great women that I "know" are hosting online blog auctions to help raise money for two separate families to reach their dream of adopting a child.

Won't you help to?

Alissa over at Rags to Stitches Boutique is raising money for the Miller's adoption titled "The Paxton Project."

Photobucket

There are three baskets to pick from, all you need to is donate $5 and you can be entered to win one of the baskets (your choice) - how great is that!

The Giveaway runs through Friday, March 4.

Read the Miller's Story

Betsy over at The Dainty Daisy is hosting an online auction for her sister and her husband. The project is titled "Bring my Nephew Home" You NEED to go over there and see all the great items that are up for auction - but just don't bid on the ones I want, ok?

Bring My Nephew Home

There are items ranging from photo sessions, to Crochet items for you and your little one, to jewelry and even Red Wings Tickets!

The Auction starts on Sunday March 6, and runs through Saturday March 12. It is an awesome cause that you will want to be involved with.

Adoption pulls at my heart strings for sure. What pulls at yours?
